Registration of credit unions

By law, all credit unions must register with the Registrar of Friendly Societies who set strict conditions of operation and who must receive annual financial statements.

Fidelity Bonding/Saving Protection Scheme

All credit unions, which are members of the League, must carry a Fidelity Bond for all staff and volunteers. All League affiliated credit unions are also members of the Savings Protection Scheme, which gives added protection to member's funds. These schemes help to protect the member's interests and secure the operation of the credit union.
